Meet the AWAKE team!

  • Rev. Lauren Andrew

Growing up with Chinese ancestry, Lauren learned the power of rituals, traditions, and celebration at an early age. A lifelong learner of science and nature, Amanda began her career as a Librarian, and holds a Masters in Information Science and undergrad in Technology & Culture from Western University. Growing up, the Dundas Valley Conservation Area played a significant role in her life. After an accident in 2019 landed her in the hospital, she began a spiritual journey that led to her ordainment as a Metaphysical Minister. She has studied many faiths, customs, and traditions and recently received her Licence as a Funeral Planner with the Bereavement Authority of Ontario.

  • Rev. Victoria Butler

Rev. VB is a poet with a degree in Creative Writing from the University of Toronto, a skill she loves to utilize for her couple’s ceremony scripts. She specialized in writing custom poetry for people, meaning you can get a poem written specifically about you and your partner for your ceremony! With years of experience in public speaking, writing, and the wedding industry, you’re in excellent hands with Rev. VB as your officiant. Plus there is a 100% chance she will make you laugh and help relieve those ceremony jitters.

  • Rev. Richard Varty

For over a decade, Richard has been bringing his humour and adaptability to every wedding ceremony he has had the privilege of performing. With training and a background in the performing arts, Richard is comfortable performing ceremonies that celebrate the love between two people as well as perform services to celebrate and honour loved ones who are no longer with us. He is dedicated to helping create genuine experiences that will be remembered by all who shared in the moment.

  • Rev. Caitlin McKenzie

Reverend Caitlin (she/they), a dedicated student on the path to becoming a therapist, channels her passion for ritual and celebration into her role as a officiant. A proud member of the Queer community, she is particularly enthusiastic about crafting meaningful marriage ceremonies for all couples. Additionally, her commitment extends to creating heartfelt end-of-life rituals, celebrating and honouring those who have left us. With a background in theatre, they bring creativity to every ceremony, ensuring each is a unique and memorable experience.
